Today was such a beautiful day for our Region 6 Fall Olympics celebration. Students from all three schools gathered under a brilliant blue sky for our opening ceremony. Flags from around the world waved in the breeze as Olympic songs played in the background. Students were surprised when Superintendent Drapp ran down the path with an Olympic "torch" in hand. He slid down the giant slide, greeted the students, and then spoke to them about following their dreams. After a quick warmup with Mrs. Wright, our students became athletes and competed in the Region 6 version of the Olympic games. Hungry athletes enjoyed a picnic lunch with their friends from Morris and Goshen before gathering for our Closing Ceremony. Mr. Andrew Gauvain and Senor Rodolfo Ruiz enjoyed a competition of their own, much to the delight of the children. They competed in a javelin throw (using cotton swabs), the shot put (using cotton balls) and a discus throw (using paper plates). Mr. Gauvain was declared "Number One" while Senor Ruiz was announced as "Numero Uno." Both of these men spent many, many hours preparing for our Fall Olympics. We are so grateful, and had a wonderful time!
