Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

Last week, I asked multi age teacher Mrs. Beth Ulrichsen to attend the superintendent's EdTalk so that parents could hear about the multi age experience directly from her. After I thanked her for attending, she sent me this response:

I was happy to be there! What we are doing at Warren School is amazing! I really believe that this is the right thing to do, the best thing, the only way!!!! Students loving learning? It just doesn't get better! It is so rewarding to come to school and work with these enthusiastic learners! I wish all children had this opportunity... I am thrilled that my students do, and that I get to be there for the adventure!

Beth Ulrichsen

After reading this, I thought that you might like to hear her words. I also thought you might like to hear the students' perspective. So, here are quotes from some of the multiage students about their experience at Warren School. I hope that you enjoy reading their messages as much as I did!

Our only classroom rule is respect, we all respect each other and anyone that comes in our room. If someone learns differently, it’s ok. -Sophia

We don’t follow the 3rd and 4th grade curriculum so we are always being challenged. We can work where we need to be, even if it is a different grade level. - Natalie

We play games in stations to learn Math. We are having fun while we play the games so it makes us want to learn more and more, -Emma

We make learning fun, and challenging at the same time. -Madison

We have fun, but we learn a lot at the same time. - Devagn

We don’t exclude anyone, we do everything together even if they are a different age. - Julia

Next year the multiage school will help everyone’s learning. When we blend together we can brainstorm and express our ideas. We can help each other when we are stumped. - Collaboration between Patrick, Mollie, and Julia

We have high expectations for ourselves, because low expectations will not help us learn. -Cora

Glitter is shiny,

Shiny is bright,

Bright is smart,

And so are we! - Ashton

Everyone works together so they can sparkle and shine, like glitter. - Mrs. Ashley Johnson

Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions, comments or concerns regarding the multiage initiative or anything else. My door is always open!

Best wishes,

Angela Rossbach
